Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, he prepared for things not yet seen, he obeyed the Lord and did what God commanded him to do. Noah and his family were saved while the world was condemned. Year after year, everyone around Noah was living their life as if there were no God, and yet there was Noah, preparing for something no one had ever seen or even heard of before, training up his sons to trust and obey God even if the whole world was going in the opposite direction, even if everyone is ridiculing them and flaunting their disregard for God every day, still, they kept on building.
You have the opportunity to be the Noah of your day. The Lord has revealed things in His Word that have not yet happened. He has given you great and precious promises concerning you and your life and your family. He has spoken about your future and about eternity. It is as if you have the chance to build an ark for the saving of your soul and your loved ones. No, not a physical, huge boat, but rather what that ark represents in your life. You spend your life obeying God and doing what He has commanded you to do. You prepare for the end of this world or the end of your time in this world.
It’s not just eternity that you cannot see; there is tomorrow and the next hour and the next minute. So much that you cannot know, for it has not yet been. You can only know the God who holds all of your tomorrows in His hands. The God who knows all of your days before there are any of them! You just keep building your ark, continue in the fear of the Lord all of your days, for as with Noah, so you and your household are heirs of the righteousness of God because of your faith. Don’t be distracted by the world and everyone in it — most of them will live like there is no God until the day that it is too late! Keep preparing your ark for the saving of your household; The Lord has great things for you, things not yet seen!
