He Will Be Praised

And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” Luke 19:39-40

God’s creation is so vast and varied, it will always be beyond the ability of man to grasp it all. There are so many varieties of animals and birds, to say nothing of the oceans teeming with creatures both great and small. The animals each have their distinctive characteristics and the birds their distinct array of colors and songs.

The fields and forests provide a palette of colors and textures that could never be fully captured and reduced to a canvas. Even the best effort by the most skillful artist falls short compared to the work of our Creator. The flowers growing wild in a field display more splendor and beauty than the most opulent and lavish décor that mere money can buy.

Then, just a simple glance upward and you see the glory of God shining upon you and possibly a backdrop of clouds as unique as that moment in time. Day or night, the heavens are fulfilling their purpose along with all of God’s creation — bringing glory to God.

These are all visible testaments to the invisible attributes of our God. Even though we cannot see God physically, we can see the work of His hands. Everything in His creation cries out, “there is a God!” Everyone sees it and, deep down, everyone knows it’s true.

As beautiful and awesome as all of these examples of God’s creation are, there is something even more wonderful; mankind, created in His image. When a person receives the grace of God and accepts the free gift of God’s salvation by faith, they become a new creation in Christ; a new person. All of God’s creation is declaring His glory in its own unique way, so what about the soul that has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus?

How can you declare the glory of God and testify to the world that there is a God who created all things and created you in His image? The animals do not even have to work at it, for it is a part of who they are. The trees of the forest and the flowers of the field, what do they have to do to bring glory to the One who made them? Just grow and reach up to heaven, that’s it. The heavens are constantly declaring God’s glory day and night. Every twinkle of every star is praising the One who calls them out by name night after night!

So, as the greatest of all of God’s works, what can you do to bring glory to God? It does not always come as naturally to man as it does to the rest of God’s creation, for man has been created with a free will. Everything else that the Lord has created does what it was created to do, but you have a choice.

There may be times when it is difficult to praise the Lord. Perhaps things are not going exactly as you would like, but that does not change who He is or why you were created. Just as your heavenly Father has a purpose for all of His creation, so He has a purpose for your life and there is one thing for sure, it’s always good to praise Him for He will be praised!
