In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. Psalms 95:4-5
God’s creation is vast and varied and beautiful. There are places so deep and cavernous that there seems to be no bottom to them. Then there are mountains stretching up literally into the clouds. The oceans are so gigantic that you can find yourself in a place where all you can see is water in every direction. And in the midst of those immense oceans are the continents, some featuring huge forests and others with massive deserts and everything else in between. Everything about our Father’s world reveals something about our Maker.
The sheer size of the mountains, the valleys and canyons, the oceans and the forests help put your life in perspective as it relates to the Lord’s ability to handle whatever you put into His hands. After all, His hands formed the world in which we live, so they are certainly big enough and strong enough to take care of whatever comes your way. If you are willing to trust Him and put your life in His hands, you will always be in good hands, for God alone is good and He has a good plan for your life!
Like the deep places of the earth and the heights of the hills, life has its ups and downs. Some days those deep places may seem to have no bottom to them, like things are going down, down, down with no way back up. Remember that the deep places of the earth are in His hand and so you should put those deep places of your life in the same place — in His hands. When you are down, the Lord will lift you up. If you feel stuck in the miry clay, He will lift you out of that place and set you firmly on the Rock, Jesus!
If you have one of those days that is a non-stop uphill climb and you don’t see any way to make it through to the top, remember that the Lord has the heights of the hills in His hands as well. When the climb is more than you are capable of in your own strength, that’s when the Lord gets the glory for being your strength. Put those mountain climbing moments into the Lord’s hands and He will always see you through.
Where can you go, which way do you turn, when life feels like a vast, featureless ocean with no road signs pointing the way to land. There seems to be no point or purpose or direction — just random waves as far as the eye can see. Even though you can’t see to the other side or even know which direction to go, the Lord knows. He holds the oceans in His hands, and that is exactly where you will find the help and direction you need in your life.
No matter what you face in your life or how big it is, there is one thing for sure — it will fit in your Father’s hands. He is able to keep anything you entrust to Him until the end and He is always there for you. Call upon the Lord, and He will answer you. Seek Him and you will find Him. When you face a situation that seems to be too much for you to handle, ask for Help; the Lord is ready to lend a helping hand.
It is good to know that the God who created you also created everything you see around you. And, when you see how awesome it all is remember, it’s all in His hands!
