We have something (or more specifically Someone) to rejoice in each and every day, all throughout the day. Rejoice in the Lord always. Once you see the source and the object of our continual state of rejoicing it becomes not only achievable but also reasonable. To rejoice in a very negative situation would not be reasonable, but to rejoice in the Lord in the midst of that same situation is not only reasonable but even appropriate.
If you have been facing some situations that have been challenging you in this area, change your focus; point your praise in the right direction. When you set your mind on the Lord and His goodness, you can’t help but to rejoice in Him. However, if you allow your thoughts to get stuck on your problems, well then, it becomes next to impossible to rejoice.
Also, if you find that you are only in “a good mood” when things are going good, then you are allowing your emotions to be tied to temporal things that are passing away rather than to eternal things that never change. You can and should rejoice in the Lord always because the Lord never changes — He is always worthy of praise. What time is it? Rejoicing time!
