Perhaps you had a zeal for the Lord burning within your heart and then you realize it just isn’t as strong as it once was. Or, it could be your prayer life; when you remember how you once prayed fervently for needs both in your life and for others as well. Now, maybe with the pressures and busyness of life, prayer has gotten pushed to the back burner (or removed from the stove altogether!).
How about relationships with others? When you reach out in love or open your heart to receive love, you become vulnerable; even to the point of almost certainly being hurt at some time or another to one degree or another. Then what? The easiest and most common response is to draw away and close off your heart to prevent further hurt. But, God has called us to have love one for another, so we know that, even though we may feel like retreating from relationships, The Lord is calling us to love still more and more. Not only that, but He tells us to have fervent love for one another — a love that is literally on fire!
If you find yourself in any of these conditions, there is good news for you today; God will revive you. Bring your relationship with Him before His throne of grace and ask Him to restore the joy of your salvation so that you can find that first love you once had for the Lord.
Put prayer back on the priority list of your life and ask the Lord to help you be diligent and fervent in prayer. Write down prayer requests and get back into that prayer closet. The Lord wants to recover and repair and restore your prayer life!
If you have backed away from loving others and closed off your heart to further pain and betrayal, bring that broken heart to the Lord and ask that He would heal it and give you a heart filled with love and compassion for others. Get right all of the wrongs with others and get a fresh start on loving one another even as Christ loves you! Bring your life to the alter and the Lord will restore, He will make you alive again, He will revive you!
