Peter walked on the water. Well, he took at least one step of faith until he got his eyes off of Jesus and began to listen to the wrong voice!
You may face situations sometimes that are so stormy, you feel like you cannot even stand, much less take a step. Maybe you see the waves and hear the wind and on the wind you hear the voice of the accuser telling you Jesus has abandoned you, that you are all alone in this dreadful storm and there is no way through it. Peter heard that voice and he began to sink until, once again, he cried out for the help and mercy of God and he was delivered safe and sound to the other side.
Today, after having learned a lesson or two from Peter’s step of faith, you know you will make it safely to the other side of the storm. Before you can take a step you have to stand, so, if you have done everything Jesus said to do, then stand firm in the faith; even in the midst of a storm, you can stand firm. Then, you are ready to take that first step, the beginning of the journey that will take you through the storm. Take that step of faith!
