Jesus declares that we have authority to trample on the enemy; we have authority, through Jesus Christ, over all of the power of the enemy. It is very encouraging to know that when you have to face the enemy, you have authority over him in the name of Jesus. Sure, the devil will mess with you any way he can, so it is important that you give no place to the devil; do not give him a foothold in your life and if you see where he has one now, kick him out of your life in Jesus’ name and close the door behind him!
This is really getting good, isn’t it? Remembering who you are in Jesus; the authority you have as His ambassador, the power of His name that has been given to you, the anointing you have from the Holy One on High. You could even get so motivated, you want to go out and find a demon or two to crush underfoot, since they are subject to you!
But wait, Jesus has something for you that is even better than battling it out with the devil or slaying giants. This life is going to be filled with challenges as we constantly conquer the devil with the power and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. But, as awesome as that is, there is something even more praiseworthy. When you leave this world, you have an eternal home. Your name is written in heaven!
