You Have an Appointment With Your Purpose

The Lord chose you, so it is He who sets this appointment and the particulars of the appointment. Even with the wonderful blessing of being chosen for this appointment by the Lord himself, still, you have a choice as well. You can choose to show up and accept God’s appointment, or you can run from the Lord. That, of course is an exercise in futility, going all the way back to the Garden of Eden (“Oh Adam, where are you? Ready or not, here I come!”), and, how could we forget Jonah — instead of having fish for dinner, a big fish had him for dinner! And then you have the Apostle Paul, formerly Saul of Tarsus; playing so hard, but for the wrong team, until the day he met Jesus on the road to Damascus.

The Lord chose you on purpose — your life is not a mistake, you are a unique creation of the Lord Most High and He has a purpose for you being here. He has even made an appointment for you; a time and place for you to receive and begin to fulfill your purpose. But, like Jonah, you have a choice; either you make that appointment the Lord has set for you or try to run from the Lord.

And what is the purpose of this appointment with the Lord? The purpose of this appointment is to receive your purpose from the Lord. It is not a onetime appointment; it’s one of those recurring appointments. “Lord, here I am waiting in your presence. I know you have created me for a purpose and I choose to be here for this appointment, to receive from You your purpose for my life at this moment in time. Father, I pray your will be done in and through my life and may I bear much lasting fruit for you, in Jesus’ name. Amen”
