You Have Caused Me to Hope

We all need hope; it is a vital ingredient in a blessed and victorious life in this world. The key is to be sure you are hoping in that which is real and true, not in something someone said because it made you feel good to have hope in what they were saying. The only thing false hope will get you is disappointed and possibly even a bit of despair.

The good news is, you do not have to go through life hoping for things that are never going to come to pass, believing in things just because they sound good or make you feel good about the future of the world. This world is passing away and one day there will be new heavens and a new earth. You do not want to place your hope in this world or anything that is of this world.

What is there then to hope in, if the future of this world is hopeless? Put your hope in God and in His Word. Heaven and earth will pass away but God’s Word will never pass away. The Lord is always the same — He never changes, He is faithful and true. This is where true hope comes from that you can carry with you through all of the ups and downs of life. You do not have to judge how things are going based on the events of a particular day or a certain moment in time because your hope is in the eternal plan of God for your life. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says about your future or the future of this world because you are not of this world. God created you for great things and He has given you great and precious promises and upon His word to you He has caused you to hope.
