There is always a chance that people will ridicule you when you speak words of faith as they did with Jesus on several occasions. So, you may have a tendency not to speak. Also, your own mind could be standing in the way. In your heart you know what God’s Word says and you believe in your heart, but your mind tries to figure it out in the natural and you start thinking thoughts of doubt and that keeps you from speaking words of faith.
So, how can you overcome these two hindrances to saying what you believe in your heart? First, put everything in its proper place; God is God alone and everyone else isn’t! Don’t worry about what some person will say or what they will think about you; put pleasing God above pleasing anyone and everyone. Faith pleases God and the Lord hears when we speak words of faith. He is always attentive to that kind of talk!
What then can you do about those pesky thoughts of doubt that keep getting in the way of what’s in your heart? Take every thought captive and make it obey the Word of God. Be transformed by renewing your mind. When you find that your thoughts do not line up with the words of faith that are in your heart, don’t silence your faith, renew your mind!
You are called to walk by faith; to put action to what you believe. The most foundational facet of that action is in your words — say to that mountain, “Move!” Say what you believe!
