In God’s Kingdom, the things that would seem to indicate weakness are actually strengths. The Word of God is compared to silver refined in the fire seven times. Sometimes you may feel like your life is being put through the fire, but that’s not going to destroy you; as God’s child, He sometimes allows the refiner’s fire just to remove some of the dross and what is left after the fire is even more pure and precious than what we started with! Of course, if you have already been through the fire a few times you may be thinking that you are done by now, but seven times represents divine completion. In a word, that means there may be more fire to come before it’s all been said and done. But remember, it’s all good.
Your faith is more precious than gold, and when you go through trials in your life and come out on the other end praising God, your faith has not been weakened; it has been strengthened. The things that the enemy intends for evil against you will only cause you to grow stronger in the Lord.
We grow stronger in our spirit even as our flesh is weak. As a child of God and a citizen of heaven, we are only passing through this world — it is not our home. We have faith in the Lord and His Word, we have hope in His promises that keep us pressing forward, and we have the assurance of His unending love. That takes us from strength to strength!
