What patience the Lord has with each of us. You may know people who are so saintly that you can almost make out a halo around their head, but compared to the Lord, all of the righteousness of man is like so many filthy rags. We have all fallen short of God’s glory. And yet, by the grace of God, here we are today.
Praise God for His patience, He never gave up on you. If you take a moment to reflect, you can probably think of a time or two when, if you had been the Lord, you might have given up on you, but God never did! What a wonderful God we serve. So full of compassion, so merciful and gracious, so patient.
As always, the Lord is our example as we seek to follow in Jesus’ steps. That means that, with God’s help, you can be patient with others. Patience may not be something that comes easily (it’s not really natural to be patient!) but, with God, all things are possible. Also, it is clearly God’s will as He has given us the example in how He has been patient with us. With that in mind, ask the Lord to help you give to others as you have received from the Lord. Be patience with all, even as the Lord has been (and is) patient with you.
