Jesus came that we might have abundant life, but how is that possible in a world that is passing away and a society that seems to be rotting away as well? If we are a part of this world then, there is nothing to be done but live an ever-diminishing life. But, praise be to God, we are not of this world and Jesus’ Kingdom is not of this world. Therefore, we are citizens of heaven and only serving as ambassadors of Christ in this world.
Even with that being the case, what can be done about the wrong choices we have made along the way that had negative results? We see the answer to that question time after time as we watch how the Lord takes broken lives and puts them back together again. Some were so badly and completely broken, it would not have seemed possible for all of those broken pieces to once again become a whole person. But God is able to do much more than we could ever think or ask of Him!
What do you have in your life today that needs to be restored? You may feel as if it is not possible; perhaps you think things are too broken to ever be made whole again. Besides, as a sort of self-punishment, you may feel you have to live with that brokenness because, after all, you deserve it. Jesus died in your place; He took your sins and mistakes and wrong choices upon Himself and, when you confess and forsake them, He takes them all away — if you will let go of the guilt and forgive yourself.
The Lord wants to restore what has been destroyed in your life and put the broken pieces back together again. Anything the enemy can destroy; the Lord can restore. Do not allow your life or your relationships to be left in the hands of the destroyer. Take it back and put it into Jesus’ hands, the One who wants you to have an abundant life. Don’t listen to the accusing lies of the devil that would keep you broken, hold on to God’s Word and His promises that His plan for you is good and that He is aware of your brokenness and chooses to love you in spite of it. Oh, and remember one more thing — God will restore!
