Keep On Climbing

Your life can be like a ship on the sea. The Lord provides you with clear direction to your destination through His Word, which is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. It would seem like, with God providing the guiding light, that it would be easy to stay the course but that is not the case.

Sometimes, the winds of this world will blow you off course and you may not even realize it because the course change is so gradual and subtle until one day the cumulative effect becomes obvious. Or maybe the waves of life toss you about until you don’t even know which way to go or what to do. It may not be the wind or waves, but simply the fog of philosophy that obscures the way to where you want to end up.

There is one thing that will always help you to recognize any of these potential problems in your pilgrimage and get yourself back on the way of life. The key is this; the way of life is indeed a winding road, but it is a road that winds upward — it is always leading you toward the Lord. Perhaps it’s the wind or the waves, or maybe the fog that has gotten your eyes off of that guiding light. If you find that your life (or even certain aspects of your life) have been led in a direction away from the Lord, re-center your journey toward God’s light and keep on climbing. If you fall down, get back up again and keep on climbing!
