God has given you many promises in His Word and it would be easy just to sit back and wait for Him to do something to bring those promises to pass. But, there are times when the Lord is waiting on you to respond to His Word. God is not impressed when someone talks about faith but He is impressed when someone walks by faith! Instead of just talking about how much you believe in rain, show the Lord with your actions that you are preparing for rain — for the Lord to do just what He said He would do.
If you have things in your life right now that need a divine touch and you have been believing in God’s promises, this would be the time to take a closer look and see if you have been preparing for rain or just believing that it was going to rain one day. The Lord may have heard that you have faith but He wants to see your faith. Build that ark, stretch out your hand, do what God has given you to do. Act like you believe what God says to you; walk by faith.
There will always be resistance, for the enemy of your soul never sleeps. As long as you are willing to remain with that withered hand, it may almost be as if the devil has taken a holiday, but as soon as you rise up in faith to take a step toward God’s will, there will be opposition. For the man with the withered hand, he would have had his own thoughts to thwart his step of faith. After all, he had tried many times in the past to stretch it out but to no avail and why, his mind would be telling him, would today be any different. And, if his thoughts were not enough to stop him, there is always the voice of doubt coming from those well-meaning onlookers. Hear only one voice — Jesus’, and, stretch out your hand!
