What Shall I Do Lord?

It’s easy to go along in your Christian life just asking the Lord to help you do what you want to do and even sometimes question His lack of response when you don’t get the answer when you want it or you don’t get the answer that you wanted! Life is full of choices and indeed, your life consists of the choices you make. From an early age it seems children tend to embrace the concept of “me”. You might hear things like, “I want this” or “I don’t want to”. The child has not yet obtained wisdom and therefore may very well want things that are not in his or her best interest. In the same way, the things they do not want to do may be just what needs doing. How much wisdom could be gained by asking, “What shall I do?”

Just consider for a moment how many things could have been learned the easy way rather than the hard way in your life just by asking that question more often. Even as an adult, you never get too old to get wisdom. This applies to Christians especially, for we know the One who has all knowledge and wisdom and always hears when we call to Him.

Every day there are choices and decisions to be made. Every day there is wisdom to be gained. Every day is a good day to ask the question, “What shall I do, Lord?
