Jesus came into our world full of grace and truth. These He brought with Him for, only through Jesus can we receive either. When Jesus ascended into heaven, He left the natural world in which He walked and taught and lived and died as a man — the Son of Man. But for those who believe in Jesus and receive the free gift of salvation that He bought with His death on the cross, He has promised that He and the Father would come and make their home in us. Not only that, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. As a born-again believer, you are filled up with the presence of God.
But wait; there’s more — not only are you filled with God’s presence but you also have the potential to experience the fullness of God’s grace and His truth. Jesus brought God’s grace into our world through His perfect, sinless life and He gave that grace away and is giving it away even today; to anyone who will receive it. Things were definitely not as they seemed that night in Bethlehem, when a King was born who seemed to come into this world with nothing and yet was filling the earth with God’s grace and truth and glory!
And, things are not as they seem in your life since you really did come into the world with nothing and can take nothing of the natural world out with you. But, there are treasures that no one can see that are freely given if you are willing to receive them. Jesus pours out His life so that you can be made alive. You are not what you appear to the world to be or even what you deserve to be once you have received the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Just as you may have once seen yourself as a “lost cause” and may even see others like that today, you now know the grace of God. Because of God’s grace, anything is possible. Don’t give up on those you love just because you can’t see any way for things to change. Remember: things are not as they seem. Just when you think all hope is lost things turn around and you see God do something amazing, totally awesome. You can never give up because you know the grace of our Lord; you have received it. The more challenging the situation in someone’s life, the more God will be glorified when the victory comes. They don’t deserve it, none of us do. But you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ!
