Ponder the Path of Your Feet

If you were standing in front of an escalator, it would be easy to see, to discern which way each was heading. You could put a sign in front of the down escalator stating that it was the way up, but that would not change the fact that as soon as you stepped on that down elevator, you would be heading down (even if you were not pursuing that destination by walking toward the end of the line, just being on the down escalator means you are moving in that direction).

Consider the path you are on, not based on what other people say about it or what the road signs tell you, but consider what God says about it. Every step you take is in a direction; it is taking you somewhere. You may not think it matters since it is, after all, only one step. True; but it is a step toward a destination, toward an end. To get to that end requires all of the steps along the way. When you put all of those steps together you have a journey, a trip down a path: the path of your feet.

If you look down the road and realize you have been on the wrong path in some areas of your life then it’s time to stop going that way and get on a new path. You may hear voices telling you “it’s no use, this is your path, you can’t change who you are.” It might not seem possible or at the very least come across as a monumental task to change paths, but with God’s help it is do-able.

Don’t keep going in a direction just because you have been going in that direction, or you are comfortable going in that direction, or you think it is best because of how it looks to you, or because that’s the way everyone else is going.

The Lord has a great plan for your life and at the end, a wonderful reward for those who finish the race and stay the course. That course does not change from one generation to another. God’s way, His path is always the right way to go so, ponder the path of your feet!
